Last week, in Advanced VFX, we learned about Rigid Body Systems. It was definitely fun for a while, that is until we had to make our own creative chain reaction. That's when things got tricky. Rigid Bodies are a way of making objects collide and move with gravity, turbulence, air fields, etc. just like they would in real life. It's a very finicky process.
Our first assignment was to make a bowl dump some mints onto a table:
The second assignment was to make a ball swing from a chain:
Our third assignment was to make that ball crash through a wall of bricks, like a wrecking ball:
Our fourth, and most difficult, assignment was to make our own creative chain reaction. I used the board game Mouse Trap as inspiration. Let me just tell you, this was NOT easy:
